Idea Napkin No. 2

My name is Carter Nash and I am a business major at the University of Florida. I don’t really have any specific talents like juggling, but I am a passionate person who loves to be hands on in whatever I do. Some skills I have gained throughout my life is the ability to sell things. Working for a retail plant nursery, I worked on selling plants all day. I learned important ways of dealing with different types of people. My aspirations for my concept is to grow it to the point where all elderly and disabled people have the same access to get places as any one else.

The product, also a service, is a transportation system with a collaborated application that allows elderly or disabled people to call for instant transportation, just like people do with Uber or Lyft. The difference is that the vehicles are suitable for disabled people, who are limited to a wheelchair for example, or elderly people who just need a comfortable and safe ride. Right now, there are shuttles that do not provide any freedom, rather just a planned transportation. My service is based on providing freedom to go wherever at any time.

I would be offering my product to people who are disabled, the elderly, and the families of each. I believe many people who have parents entering the stage of their life where they can’t drive anymore and begin relying on other people (family) to get places. I believe that will set up a large part of the market.

Customers would care about the service because my service provides freedom to those who usually feel trapped. Customers would actually pay money for the service because it is a hassle to be on-call for somebody else, even if they are family. People live their own lives and as much as you care about your family, sometimes you are unable to drive them to the doctor or anywhere else.

What sets us apart from everyone else is the specialized vehicles we will be offering. The vehicles will be equipped with easy accessible seats that are comfortable and spacious. In addition, those who are disabled can request a handicap equipped vehicle. I feel that my feedback told me that I should definitely market to the kids of elderly people. Also, I found that people are interested in my service and it seems like something people would look into.

  1. I commented on your last idea napkin and I really do think this is a great idea. I feel as if marketing to the children of the elder is a good idea because they would be the ones setting up this type of thing and sometimes paying for it too. I do feel as if this is something people need. I think you need to find out what differentiates you between the other few transportation companies that are available. But good job!
