The behaviors I have used for this class is
consistency and planning. With a busy schedule, I found myself always checking
the calendar to see when assignments were due. Once I figured out the pattern,
I was able to plan certain days that I would do the week’s assignments. Since
there are new assignments every week, consistency has been a large key to my
success thus far.

Once my classes and other obligations began to
pile up, I found myself wanting to give up. What pulled me through was the fact
that I am here to learn as much as I can, so there was no giving up. I feel my
tenaciousness has developed in the last two months because of how consistent my
schedule has been. It showed me that I can pull myself through if I am determined.

Some advice I would offer is to find a couple
days a week that you can dedicate to the class. This will help with the skills
that support tenacity. Also, I would recommend to go through the assignments
and plan out what you really can not do and budget your time and points that
way. Finally, I would also to try doing every assignment. Especially the ones
that may challenge you. In order to develop a “tenacious mindset”, I would
advise to remind yourself why you are in the class and in school. Additionally,
reaching out to your classmates and teaching assistants is important for
development.
So far, I've seen that a lot of people have said planning and consistency are important to this class. If there's one thing this class has taught me, it's to plan ahead and not wait until the last minute. Some of these assignments will take more than a few hours to complete, and some will require you to be out of your comfort zone. The class does a great job of pushing you to develop skills. Overall, your thoughts are very similar to mine.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I also had trouble keeping up with assignments. I also had to make a schedule as to when I would do assignments. I found that it really helped out. Creating a schedule is great advice to give to other students. Also, doing every assignment is great advice. I wish that earlier on I would have done every assignment so that I could relax a little bit later in the semester.
