My entrepreneurship story began in middle school where I found myself always wanting to buy something, then always wanting to sell it a few days later. I figured, what better way to make money than to buy and sell things. Luckily for me, I had friends who were shoe traders on an online marketplace. Realistically at the time I was in it because I wanted to get shoes, wear them for a few days, and then sell them for profit. However, it turned into a love for business and the way in which we interact with other people who are interested in similar things. I flourished my shoe trading business, making a fair amount of money for a sixth-grader. Furthermore, I began selling all types of apparel and even creating some of my own.
I felt an interest in enrolling in ENT 3003 due to the interest I've always had in my own entrepreneurial skills. My hopes for the class is to gain an appreciation for what entrepreneurship truly is and ultimately develop myself into an entrepreneurial thinker.
Carter,
ReplyDeleteWelcome! Your industriousness is admirable. I remember friends selling food in middle school but never to the tune of your operation. What got you started? I imagine it was more than an impulse for new shoes. I wonder where your idea came from.
My great grandfather was an entrepreneur, and I think I have some of him in me, but I don't have the constant hustle in me. You can check out my post here: http://adventuresinent.blogspot.com/2016/01/my-entrepreneurship-story.html. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Hey Carter,
ReplyDeleteIt is very impressive to have that entrepreneurship vision at such a young age. How were you about to sell the shoes at a profit after wearing them? Were you able to get them at a low enough price from you online shoe connection? You mention that you hope to develop yourself into an entrepreneurial thinker, it seems like you already have this mindset.
Cheers,
Dillon Warzala
Hey Carter! Your entrepreneurship story is very impressive! I can’t believe you accomplished so much at such a young age. Its clear that you are going to go very far in this industry since you have so much passion and experience. As someone with very little entrepreneurship experience who is only taking this class to fulfill a requirement, I found you story very inspiring and intriguing. Best of luck to you as you take this class and develop your skills.
ReplyDeleteHey Carter, That is a very interesting story about your entrepreneurship experience. I also had friends back in High School who would do the same exact thing and made good profit. I assume you also make some good money which is nice to do during school instead of working. It must have felt great having a hobby make money for you. Do you still continue to buy and sell shoes? That business can grow big just like "Benjamin Kicks" (The kid who sells shoes to DJ Khalid). Anyway best of luck in your future endeavors!
